Bowen, Philadelphia, 1840-44. The first octavo edition was produced under the direct supervision of John James Audubon and features strictly hand-coloring. The credits are in BLOCK LETTERS, as required for royal octavos numbered 1-150.. Includes a facsimile of the title page of volume one.
