The coin is in amazing condition, you will receive the exact coin that is in the photos and authenticity is guaranteed. This beautiful coins numismatic history and historical significance in general cannot be denied as Philip II was an integral part of the rise of Macedon, as Macedonia went from a periphery of classical Greek affairs to domination of Ancient Greece. The rise of Macedon happened after the Army of Philip II defeated the Greek city-states of Athens and Thebes at the Battle of Chaeronea in 338 BC. Philip II then led the effort to establish a federation of Greek states known as the League of Corinth, with him as the elected hegemon and commander-in-chief of Greece for a planned invasion of the Achaemenid Empire of Persia. His assassination in 336 BCE by a royal bodyguard, Pausanias of Orestis, led to the immediate succession of his son Alexander, who would go on to invade the Achaemenid Empire in his father's stead, further extending Ancient Greeces and its Macedonian Kings influence all the way from the now federation of Greek City States in mainland Europe to not only Ancient Egypt and Persia but all the way to modern day Pakistan and areas along the Indus River. The denomination of the coin is AE and it has not been cleaned. This coin is a must-have for any Greek coin collection or history enthusiast.
