Description: Autograph of United States First Lady, Frances F. Cleveland Preston on card stock 3 5/8" x 2 1/2" President Grover Cleveland was a bachelor until he married Frances Folsom on June 2, 1886, fourteen months into his first term. Becoming first lady at age 21, she remains the youngest wife of a sitting president. Frances Cleveland was First Lady from 1886-1889 and 1893-1897. After her husband's death in 1908, Frances Cleveland remained in Princeton, New Jersey. On February 10, 1913, at the age of 48, she married Thomas J. Preston, Jr., a professor of archaeology at her alma mater, Wells College.She was the first presidential widow to remarry. Cleveland died in her sleep at the age of 83 on October 29, 1947.
