Description: This is an Aviation art print of a flight of "Eagle Squadron" Hawker Hurricanes on patrol during the Battle of Britain. It pays tribute to the late General Richard Rann who left Michigan at age 18 to join the Royal Canadian Air Force. After Canadian flight school he was posted to England and joined the "Eagle Squadron" flying Hawker Hurricanes, the subject of this print. When the US joined WW2 he was transferred to the 8th Air Force flying Spitfires and eventually P-51's. During the later stages of the war he was one of the few pilots credited with shooting down an ME-262. He was also one of the few pilots to survive the entire war being temporarily promoted to Major and becoming one of the youngest Squadron Commanders in the 8th, advancing as his superiors were shot down one at a time. He mustered out after the war, used the GI bill to become a veterinarian and eventually joined the Michigan ANG where he again rose through the ranks to become General. This print is signed by the original artist, numbered and includes a certificate of authenticity telling about the print and artist.
