Store Home Our Feedback Ask a Question Item Description This show is comprised of footage Greg's father Warren W. Scholl shot between 1954 and 1958, the last years of B&O Steam operations. Living near Cincinnati the coverage generally radiates from that area. The first segment is west toward Indiana with scenes along the Ohio River through Storrs yard, Anderson Ferry, Milan Hill, and in North Vernon where we see a couple of 2-8-2 freight operations. We also see several shots of the Louisville to Cincinnati Passenger trains with Pacific's for power racing along, mostly toward Cincinnati. The second part of the video is along the line from Cincinnati to Pittsburgh. There are a lot of trackside views in places like Winton Place, Oakley, Madeira, Loveland, Blanchester, Columbus, Newark, Wheeling, Pittsburgh and more. Mr. Scholl had an office in Madeira, so he shot a lot of passenger trains in that area. He also rode the train east several times, and filmed some shots out the back, and from the vestibules. On one such trip he got a cab ride from an engineer that got to know him, and he even runs the engine for a brief time west of Columbus. There are mostly riding scenes between Columbus and Pittsburgh, and some nice scenes at the Pittsburgh passenger station with steam activity there, plus an RDC shot. In the third segment we see the roundhouse and Cincinnati Union Terminal with a departure of "The Cincinnatian" with one of the streamlined P7 4-6-2. We also see locations such as Winton Place with the back-up move of trains to the Toledo sub, and visit Glendale station for some action. A few other locations are visited like Sidney, and Lima, before we see a lot around the Toledo Station, and visit Rossford yard, where we see a few shots of 4-8-2's, 2-10-2's and an 0-8-0. Mr Scholl rode the train a lot to Toledo, so there is a good representation of images there. Also we see a couple of brief scenes aboard the "Cincinnatian". This is a great show with good looking steam power in all seasons of operation, during the final years for B&O steam. 77 Minutes Item Specifics SKU: GSVP-098 Runtime: 1 Hour, 17 Mins Disc Format: DVD Producer: Greg Scholl Video Productions Aspect Ratio: Full Screen Shrink Wrapped?
