This cargo bike carries bulky loads and handles like a normal bike, making it a favorite of urban couriers. The simplicity of the cargo bike allows you to carry oversized loads, the limit is up to you. Although it is a long bike, the riding feeling is just like any other normal bike, it doesn’t feel long at all. For cargo bikes we choose transmissions with short ratios, single chainring 36D cassette 11/40 (8 speed) or 11/46 (10 speed) so we have the ability to start if the load is heavy and overcome slopes without major problems. In brakes we choose mechanical or hydraulic discs of 160mm front and rear. Despite having the front tire and being a small wheel (R20) the Jamaica handles like a normal bicycle. Bamboo is also lighter making it ideal for bicycle construction. Neither bamboo or carbon fiber are subject to fatigue. Your bike can endure daily use and falls without losing its strength. Naturally bamboo generates 30% more oxygen than trees, this helps break down Co2 generated by cars. It takes up to 15 years for a regular pine tree to grow, it takes bamboo as little as 3 years to reach the same level, making it a very renewable source. Joints are hand made from unidirectional 50K Carbon Fiber. Carbon Fiber is an extremely strong, resistant and light material. As well as bamboo, CF is no subject to fatigue, so, in time, there will not be any acumulable damage on your bike. Using unidirectional fibers lets us design how the structure throughout the bike works. The species of bamboo that we use for the bikes is commonly known as "natural steel" of "solid bamboo".
