Description: My mother, Althea Bieler, was an amazing doll maker. During her life she made 1,000s of cloth dolls. This set of felt Barbar characters was made when I was a small child. We may have played with them some, but not a lot. They were more of a display item than a toy. These dolls are made from felt that has embroidery adding the details. I'm pretty sure that she followed patterns that were popular at the time. There are 6 dolls in the set. Barbar the elephant king and his wife, plus the children. It's been a long time since I've read the stories so I don't remember all of their names. The adult dolls are about 12.5 inches tall, 6 inches wide and 2.5 inches deep. The children are about 9.25 inches tall by 6.5 inches and about 1.5 inches in depth. Some of the felt shows signs of wear/age. There are a few small holes. I think one of the children got more play time as it is more wobbly in the stuffing than the others. I have many other dolls and family treasures for sale in my store. Please take a moment to check them all out. I will gladly combine shipping on items purchased on the same day. Thanks for looking!
