Description: Vintage compact sized three drawer Bassett "Artisan" walnut desk with a gentle upward curving lip for preventing wayward items from rolling off the back. This is a signature feature of the Artisan line. The back side of the dresser is also finished allowing you to position it in an open concept room with all sides visible. Solid walnut tapered legs attach seamlessly to the frame and lend an air of elegance and refinement. Two drawers run down the left hand side making this a convenient desk for those who are left handed. There is also one long drawer positioned in the center. All drawers have the masterful pulls that are exclusive to this design. The walnut grain is impressive in its figuring. This desk is an excellent example of Mid-Century Modern furniture Dimension: 48"W 25.25"D 30.25"H Restoration Notes: This piece has been hobbyist restored with some unique design choices with potential improvements or changes that can be made. - Loose veneer on bottom left drawer corner. (We are currently restoring this with some Titebond 2.) - Missing veneer piece in bottom right drawer corner. (Hobbyist restoration stained over the small missing section.) - Ink spill in the upper right hand corner of the dresser top. - Faux metal legs! Honestly, they don't look too bad. The lines could be tightened up or could be sanded and refinished back to the original color. We kind of like the faux metal look and we don't know why. - Faux metal drawer pulls. These were done with the same silver paint as the legs. - Light wear on front portion of the top from use after being refinished a couple years ago. - Middle drawer divot from staple on the underside of the tabletop. - Ink marks in middle drawer. - Stick on felt feet. We have added easily removable felt feet in the event you wish to replace them with the more permanent spike feet. We prefer to "do no harm" to the pieces we handle, so we're using the light stick on feet to prevent damage. - Marring on the top. There is some denting in the wood from use. If you intend to completely refinish it you could probably raise most of the dents with the "hot steam trick" to raise the grain. - Candlelight gel stain. By the coloring and patterns of the stain we believe candlelight gel stain was used to refinish. It's not immediately noticeable, but under the right light we can see it. And we'd be bad rehomers of stuff if we didn't mention it. Shipping:If you are on the East Coast we know a private shipper that isn't horribly expensive. Shipping can take time, as he is a one man operation.Alternatively you can use uShip's Name Your Price option to hire your own shipper. Or you can simply pick it up yourself. It's not a massive desk and should fit in the back of your SUV. (It is rather heavy for it's size though.)
