Description: Germany/Memel WWII-era postcard: An important commemorative postcard with Germany B125 sent from Heydekrug (Silute), Memelland (4/1/39) to Gorlitz. Special handstamp stating "Memelland is free." After WWI, Memelland became part of Lithuania. On 3/23/39, Hitler issued one of his Lebensraum ultimatums to Lithuania, demanding return of Memelland to the Reich, and the Lithuanian government acquiesced.
