Description: LIVING ESTATE SALE (Details at the end of description) MA/AI For your consideration is a Weeden 34 Live Steam Engine Made in the USA in the 1910s.From the Weeden Site :The Weeden No. 34 is a large engine, 10" high and 8" long with a 4 1/4" diameter balance wheel. The boiler is brass enclosed in a blued steel jacket with star, snowflake or round hole cut-outs. Engine frame and balance wheel are nickel plated iron. Introduced in 1896 and produced until 1940. Later models, sometime around 1920, could be reversed by flipping the flywheel in the opposite direction. This antique Live Steam Engine truly is a looker.And it runs well too (on air). Please take a look at the video.It probably would be challenging to run it on steam, but, with some patience and new gaskets, who knows ? It is complete and mostly original, including the whistle (that whistles) and the pressure relief valve that would need to be tested.The burner tray was missing, so this is one that was homemade (without warranty of suitability).The line between the boiler and the engine has been replaced : nice job. This is a display that would bring a lot of conversations, especially considering the complicated engineering and design. Please select the shipping system that suits you best. Condition : This Live Steam Engine is a genuine antique over 100 years old. For being so old, it is in a beautiful condition. It has been air tested (video) and runs strong. I am sure though that it would be tricky to run it on steam. Mostly original and complete, except for the line between the boiler and the engine and the burner tray.
