Description: DATING TO THE 1840’S THIS PIECE IS HAND SEWN THROUGHOUT. FASHIONED OF A STRIPED SILK WITH A CHEVRON FRONT. SEAMS ARE PIPED DOWN THE CENTER, AROUND THE NECKLINE, BOTTOM WAISTLINE EDGE, THE ARM HOLE SEAM, AS WELL AS THE CUFFS. CUFFS ARE TRIMMED IN A FLAT FOLD OF THE STRIPED SILK FULLY AROUND. DRAWSTRING ON THE REAR WITH THE ORIGINAL HAMMERED BRASS HOOKING EYES. INTERIOR IS FULLY BONED AND LINED IN A POLISHED COTTON. CONDITION: THERE IS SOME SMALL YELLOW SPOTTING SEEN TO THE STRIPED SILK ON THE REAR TOP SIDE AND SOME SMALL AREAS ON THE SLEEVES, NOT READILY NOTED. WHEN HELD TO THE LIGHT, THERE IS ONE PINHEAD HOLE IN THE CENTER FRONT BESIDE THE BUST TWO INCHES DOWN FROM THE NECKLINE. IT IS A SINGLE NEEDLE PRICK AND IS NOT SEEN.
