Beautiful Rookwood Arts Crafts Lotus Cabinet Vase "XXVII" 1927 #2282 Dusty Rose

Description: Featured in this auction is a gorgeous little cabinet vase made by Rookwood Pottery. The vase is in excellent condition with no chips, no cracks, no crazing and no repairs. This piece is almost 5-1/2" tall, 3-1/2" wide at the shoulder, and almost 2-1/2" wide at the top rim. The base of the pottery is stamped with the Rookwood Pottery flame mark, the shape number 2282 and the production year XXVII (1927). The vase has an ovoid shape that features a beautiful, arts-and-crafts design of lotus leaves. There is some very-light peppering in the glaze which is a gorgeous matte dusty-rose or pink with a green overdrip that has curdled beautifully on the vase. This glaze color combination was one of the most popular that Rookwood produced in the 1920s and into the 1930s. Glaze drips are visible just inside the top rim along with tiny glaze pinholes and clay tags. The interior glaze has faded somewhat from gentle use. There are tiny stray marks on the vase; however, the vase is clean both inside and out. Stilt marks are visible on the base. Check out all 8 photos!
