Description: This beautiful flint adze was found in Fayette co Ky and is made from beautiful bullseye banded St. Louis chert (is not really green in this example- ). I’m calling it an adze because it is flat and the blade flares on one side Is 4 3/4 inches long , which is large for a flint tool from this area. One reason is such tools are limited by the size of the breathitt or St. Louis chert cobbles that were available. We don’t have good supply of local hardstone so flint celts were used is extremely polished with an awesome super sharp bit. Is maybe the 2nd nicest one I’ve seen. Is an exceptional tool made from highly collectible material from a desirable geographic location Check out our Facebook page: Central Kentucky arrowheads and artifacts 1024-3501
