Description: This 1960 British import stereo album from L'Oiseau-Lyre (SOL 60015) features a performance of Ludwig van Beethoven's Septet in E flat, Op. 20, performed by The Melos Ensemble of London. Featured performers are Gervase de Peyer (clarinet), William Waterhouse (bassoon), Neill Sanders (horn), Emanuel Hurwitz (violin), Cecil Aronowitz (viola), Terence Weil (cello) and Adrian Beers (double bass). Album notes are in English, written by Charles Cudworth. Also included is a photocopied review of the performance from the February, 1973 edition of The Gramophone, although a handwritten note on the photocopy states that this recording listed here is the older original L'Oiseau-Lyre edition. The outer sleeve shows a small collection index sticker in the upper right corner of the back (Photo 2).
