Description: Bentwood Thonet Bistro Cafe Chair Carved Peacock Feather Seat No. 18 Art NouveauThis Lovely chair looks as if it had a label on it at one time, but I can not be 100% certain as to which company produced this chair other than it being manufactured in Poland/Czech Republic... So for now I will have to say it is in the Thonet Style, but it could be authentic. I am estimating this was made in the early 20th century. I purchased this from an estate lot with many other antiques that were at least this old and older. The No.18 Bentwood Stool was first designed by one of Michael Thonet's sons, August Thonet, in the 1800s. The first embossed seat appeared on Michael Thonet's bentwood chairs in 1885 in an effort to appeal to a renaissance taste during this time. Wear consistent with age and use. The chair is structurally sound and sturdyPlease look at all the photos, as they are part of the description.I try my best to point out any flaws. Also please remember this is a preloved piece and may show signs of light wear, scratches, marks, etc. Thanks for stopping by
