Description: BERGERE - 1947 thru 1979. Jewelry by BERGERE was produced by L. Erbert & Pohls Inc. New York in 1947. From my large collection of vintage clip earrings I'm offering a lovely pair by BERGERE. These circle in a circle hoops are 2" long and each earring weighs in at 3 grams. The hallmark BERGERE, in script, does not have the copyright symbol - (c) - which was mandated in 1955 so my feeling they were manufactured before 1955. These light as air earrings have still maintained the high polish gold tone look. The gold tone on most fashion earrings over 40 and 50 years old tend to darken but these are still bright. They've been in the collection since the '70s and have been kept in a closed box in a pet and smoke free environment. Thanks for taking the time to look and to read!
