Description: Berkeley Designs "H.L. Hunley" Confederate civil war submarine model. The CSS Hunley was the first submersible that sunk a warship. Although in doing so the blast also sunk her with a loss of all aboard. The submarine had a harpoon attached to the front with explosives on it. The model is a full 35 inches long with the harpoon attached. It stands 5 inches tall on it's base. Made of wood and metal. "New". Opened for the first time to check condition and take photos for this listing. Harpoon seems a bit loose where the tip attaches to the shaft. Not sure if this is by design.
