Players wander the world in this manner, interacting with the denizens of the land and searching for evidence of the sinister conspiracy that threatens the Empire. Dungeons, towns, castles, and more can be explored and hundreds of weapons, items, and spells will have to be used to destroy the evil creatures encountered. When engaged in combat, the view switches to a 2D overview of the surrounding area that is divided into hexes. At this point, actions are handled in a turn-based manner until the enemies are dead or the player's party defeated.
