Paramount has released the Beverly Hills Cop trilogy on Blu-ray, with the first film being reissued and the second and third films debuting on Blu-ray. While the original film was previously released in 2011, all three films have been remastered in 4K for this new Blu-ray edition. Each film features a DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 lossless soundtrack. However, only the original film includes special features, combining new content with previously available supplements. This Blu-ray set is currently the only way to access the films sourced from the new 4K masters. Please note that the set does not include DVD or digital versions and comes with a non-embossed slipcover. Although the picture quality of all three films is excellent and the sound for the second and third films is impressive, it is disappointing that Paramount opted for Blu-ray only rather than providing a 4K UHD/Dolby Vision option. Additionally, the absence of extras for the second and third films is a letdown. Nevertheless, for fans seeking high-quality picture and sound, this Blu-ray collection delivers and is priced appropriately. Highly recommended for enthusiasts.
