Description: Here is a Bing & Grondahl Porcelain Lidded Dish with Blue Crystalline Glaze Number 747. This rare and special piece of modern art pottery was designed by Danish artist and designer Henning Koppel (1918-1981) for B&G in the 1960s. His incised signature appears at the bottom of the lidded dish or bonbonniere. The crystalline glaze is spectacular and it is wonderful the way the base and lid fit together in a very natural way. The piece reminds me of a sea creature bivalve mollusk. The stunning blue also recalls ocean water. The piece is factory first quality, made and hand painted in Denmark in the period 1962-1970. The lidded dish measures approximately 4 1/2 inches by 3 3/4 inches by 2 3/4 inches tall. The vase is in excellent condition. There are no chips, cracks or repairs. There is a small pinhole / irregularity in glaze shown in final photo. I see no other apparent issues or concerns. It is a wonderful piece that belongs in any art pottery / crystalline glaze collection! Please examine the photos and description and reach out with any questions!Carefully packaged in non-smoking, no pets household, and shipped with USPS.
