SmithBi lateral laser makes difficult areas easy to measureReviewed in the United States on January 13, 2024As a tool for house shopping, the bi-lateral laser makes it easy and convenient to measure rooms, large areas, ceiling height, etc. The flexibility and accuracy over using a traditional tape measure makes this a no brainer purchase. There are a lot of different specialized functions and calculations that are not necessary to get the basic functionality from this tool. It is easy to turn on, easy to switch laser functions, and easy to recall numbers later. Learning to use advanced functions is simply a matter of reading the book. Using advanced functions a few times as part of your normal usage model (if you want area or sf calculations) is pretty easy to commit to memory if you use it all the time. So. I disagree with complaints about it being hard to use or too steep a learning curve.
