Description: For sale is a Rawlings official MLB baseball signed by former professional baseball player, Bill Freehan. Mr. Freehan played catcher for his entire 15-year career for the Detroit Tigers (1961, 1963–1976). The premier catcher in the American League for several years from the 1960s into the early 1970s, he was a 5x Gold Glove winner and 11x All-Star, the most All-Star seasons for a player to not be inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame. He was the MVP runner-up for Tigers' 1968 World Series championship team. Mr. Freehan beautifully signed this baseball in bold blue ballpoint ink and added the inscription, "68 World Champs" to commemorate his World Series championship with the Tigers. The ball itself is bright white with some very minor scratches on the side of the baseball. Beckett Authentication Services (Beckett), one of eBay's few recommended autograph authentication companies, has authenticated Mr. Freehan's signature and inscription as evidenced by the tamper-evident holographic alphanumeric certification sticker shown in the photos and in Beckett's online database. This item SHIPS FREE and fully insured via the United States Postal Service.
