Description: Legendary basketball player on both the collegiate and professional levels (his jersey #32 has been retired both by UCLA and Portland Trail Blazers, and his plaque resides in the NCAA and NBA Halls of Fame), Bill Walton has passed at the age of 71. Walton was part of the unprecedented run of UCLA National Championships under coach John Wooden, winning NCAA titles in 1972 & 1973, before becoming the #1 draft pick overall in 1974 going to the Portland Trail Blazers. It only took him a few short years before he helped turn that franchise into NBA Champions, winning it all in 1977(while being named NBA Finals MVP). Although his NBA statistics were hampered by recurring foot injuries, Walton was known as a defensive stalwart. For his career he was recognized on both the 50th and 75th NBA Anniversary Teams. Rest easy Bill, you will not be forgotten. This commemorative plaque features certified autographs of BOTH Bill Walton and legendary college coach John Wooden. It was produced by The Optimum Group of Cincinnati Ohio, under license by UCLA. This oversized plaque measures 16” X 12” with two autographed postcards signed by John Wooden and Bill Walton, both in bold black ink. Recessed into the plaque are two commemorative coins of the respective icons. Collegiate highlights are spelled out on the plaque.
