Tokugawa' era continued and flourished for 400 years after that so Omoto is known as lucky charm for new establishment. It was common for people in Edo to gift Omoto as home welcoming gift as best luck in new place. Growing Omoto is not hard. They need indirect light, water a lot every 2-3 days span and pot in media with good drainage. And of course there are many decorative pots to go with beautiful Omoto. They are slow growing but they will look absolutely different in 2-3 years. Both variegation and leaf shape develops as it ages.
