Description: You are bidding on a page from a scarce 1840s publication (a nature encyclopedia). It depicts a beautiful central illustration of a group of toucans. Above it are close-ups of the head, tongue, beak, and internal structure. Below are the feet and upper surface of the toucan tongue. In the bottom right are the heads of a rook and crow. This print can be trimmed for just the central image, or framed in its whole. The page has some age related damage, including light cream coloration from age and possible smudges in the margins. See scan and close-ups for a better idea of condition. The page size is approx. 10 x 13.5 inches. It has text on the back. The printing technique in this 165-year-old print is pen-and-ink lithography. This method produced very fine lines and lots of detail. This is NOT a recent copy or modern reproduction, but a GENUINE antique item. It would look wonderful framed as a gift! All prints are delivered in an archival sleeve and packed flat with heavy cardboard (or rolled in a sturdy box).
