Description: Sumas is a small town in Whatcom County, Washington State, with a population of 1,307 at the 2010 census. It is located adjacent to the Canada–US border and borders the city of Abbotsford, British Columbia and has a 24 hour border crossing station. A post office called Sumas has been in operation since 1897 and incorporated in 1891. The community was named after the Sumas First Nation, a native American group of people located in the Upper Fraser Valley region. This is a nice birds eye view of Sumas in a different era with the mountains in the background. It looks like to me that there have been some artistic enhancements with the smaller hills outlined and the large mountain, Mount Baker, highlighted? The 10,781 Mount Baker, about 50 miles south east from Sumas, is the youngest active volcano in the Cascade Volcanic Arc and the North Cascades of Washington State. It is the second-most thermally active crater in the Cascade Range after Mount Saint Helens. The card is in good condition with intact corners and edges. The image is clean and clear except for some album corner shadows, the same with the reverse in reverse. There is an X on the card which might relate to the message, but I tried to translate and was unsuccessful. If this your card, it will be mailed promptly upon receipt of payment......
