Description: Here is a dance or ballet dress costume in black stretch velvet and spandex. Purchased several years ago from Weissman’s Designs for Dance and never used. Size adult large. Halter-style top: high neck (almost a turtleneck) with a keyhole design in the front. Sleeveless. Two snap closures at the back of the neck with a larger keyhole in the back. Graduated waist line: umpire-type line in the front that goes down to the waist in the back. The skirt actually attaches in an upside down point at the front center and graduates downward around to the back. Bodysuit with a flare, swingy skirt attached. The skirt is unhemmed (this is intentional and how it arrived). The top of the bodysuit above the skirt (the portion of the bodysuit that is visible) is made of the black stretch velvet. Underneath the skirt, the bodysuit is made of black spandex. The skirt material is less stretchy than the bodysuit. The label inside says “Performa Dancewear, LA, 92% Polyester, 3% Lycra, Panne Velvet; Made in the USA. . . Machine wash cold, with like colors, delicate cycle, no bleach, hand dry, DO NOT DRY CLEAN.” PLEASE NOTE STATED MEASUREMENTS CAREFULLY! All measurements taken when laying flat and unstretched. Armpit to armpit across chest: 16” Top of collar to point of skirt attachment in front: 10” Waist: 14” Length of skirt in center front: 24.5” Length of skirt in center back: 19” THE LENGTH IN THE BACK IS LESS BECAUSE THE SKIRT IS ATTACHED TO THE BODYSUIT LOWER IN THE BACK! Length from top of collar in front to bottom of entire dress: 35” Length from top of collar in back to bottom of entire dress: 36” Width across hips: 15.5” Width of elastic around legs (unstretched and flat!): 10” Length of bodysuit underneath skirt in front: 18” Length of bodysuit underneath skirt in back: 12” Front keyhole: 5” high x 1” wide Back keyhole: 7” high x about 1.75” wide Width of neck: 6.5"-7” Height of collar around neck with snap closures: 1.75” If there is a measurement not listed here that would be helpful to you, please do not hesitate to ask. I purchased several of these dresses for a piece I was choreographing in 1999, but ended up doing a different piece than planned for these dresses, so they have never been used.
