Description: This highly collectible, scalloped-edge platter was created in Erwin TN between 1920 and 1950 by Blue Ridge Southern Pottery in its "Chintz" pattern. The Chintz pattern features the folk art look of whimsical flowers, stems, and leaves in the delightful colors of spring in the Blue Ridge Mountains, all hand painted underglazes on an off-white, bisque body. The platter measures 11.75” x 8 11/16” x 1.” The fluted, scalloped edge of the platter indicates it is from Blue Ridge's Colonial line. Condition: Mild crazing. Three chips: one superficial 6mm x 2mm chip on enderside edge, one edge chip 3mm x 1 mm, and one nick approx 1mm x 1 mm. Several pre-production tiny bumps and random dots of paint beneath the glossy finish. No maker's marks or back stamp (typical with Blue Ridge Southern Pottery's platters.)
