Description: Boch Freres Keramis Majolica Belgian Taverne Pitcher La Louviere c.1880s. Boch Freres Keramis Co was found in 1841 and has a long and successful auction history. This piece has a Bacchus image under the spout and an image of Boreas on the handle, the God of Wine and the God of the North Wind. As the spout points left we have several people seated at a table with one person raising a glass as if to “toast”. As the spout points right we see people working as if cooking and carrying flasks. This piece measures 9.5” to the spout by 8.25”from handle to spout and weighs 4 pounds in superb antique condition with fantastic age related glaze crazing overall.
