Description: This book is a must-have for any cooking enthusiast and collector of rare cookbooks. Published in 1900 by George Lewis & Son, Selkirk, Scotland. Author E.W. Kirk was a lady member of her local church. To assist the church in meeting their financial obligations, she came up with the idea of compiling recipes from fellow members and publishing a book. Filled with delicious recipes and helpful tips, along with advertising pages for local business, this book is sure to be a great addition to your collection. It is extremely hard to find this edition. Please see photos for condition, but based on its age, I would state its very good. The cover has some wrinkling, staining and the edges are showing a little bit of wear. The inside pages of this book are excellent, with only a few (I counted 3), pages showing where it had been creased at the corner. Very minimal staining. No writing at all, with the exception of one page (p. 111) where the owner wrote in PENCIL, as shown. Appears to have rarely been used. Pages are complete, with 194 pages of recipes and helpful hints, and another 18 pages of advertisements. The binding is still intact, with just the very firstinside page starting to become unglued from its spine, approximately 3 inches from the bottom. Payment by Paypal only, to be made within 2 days of auction's end. No international bidding.
