Borax is a component that can be used to glaze ceramic crucibles, as a flux in Jewelry casting and soldering. Borax when used in melting of Gold and Silver helps to dissolve Oxides and other impurities, during the melting process will produce a fluid slag that collects on the surface of the molten metal. This slag is periodically removed, by use of a carbon-graphite or clay rod. 🟢 This Borax is NOT for Household use - Not for Food use! NOTE: It is advised that ceramic crucibles be glazed with this Borax. To use it as a glaze for crucibles. Pre-Heat the crucible prior to use, a pinch or two of the borax then can be spread over the crucible and heat applied again to melt and cure the crucible surface.
