Description: EPAC Poole Silver Co #1892 VTG Double Vegetable Bowl Silverplate-Holloware 1960's EUC The letters "EPCA" stand for Electro Plated Copper Alloy which is the base for this Double Vegetable Bowl along with the rope like edging around the outer rims and top also known as a Gadroon border. Dragooning is a term given to the decorative rope like edging or a repeating series of vertical curves. These both are examples of the technical skill and work that went into the creation of this piece. This Double Vegetable Bowl is an extremely versatile piece; it is actually 4 separate pieces. The Base and Lid fit together as a bowl and lid with a glass insert for the food.( 3 pieces). The Lid can be used as an extra vegetable bowl with it's own glass insert! (2 pieces). Both the Lid and the Base can be utilized as separate bowls with their own glass inserts. (4 pieces). This Double Vegetable Bowl is the same pattern as the Meat Platter I have listed -- which is Silverplate Hollowware stamped EPCA # 1892 dating from the 1960's. The Base and Lid have the Gadroon border around the edge of the larger Base Bowl and inset on the top of the Lid Bowl. This would be the feet on the Lid if you were using it as a second vegetable bowl. Both have matching Glassbake #558 liners that are interchangeable. Silverplate is smooth and solid on both Base and Lid with no flaws except some tarnish. Both glass Liners are in Mint condition also - no chips, cracks or flaws. Base Bowl is 11.25" inches long and 8.25" wide and stands 1.75" tall.Lid Bowl is 9.5" inches long with handles on the long ends and 6 7/8" inches wide and stands 1.5" inches tall.Liners are identical and measure 8 7/8" inches long and 6.25" inches wide and stand 1.25" inches tall.
