Vintage 1980’s; purchased in flagship store in NYC. Slanted, hinged top. The lid / top folds back completely. Separate storage compartment for writing utensils and small items. Solid wood. Gold tone metal hinges. Can be used as a chest or a storage box, or for laptops. Excellent craftsmanship. I do not know whether it is made of mahogany or cherry wood.
