Description: Estate Find Brass Boudoir ChairIn The Manner OfOscar Bruno Bach We offer an elegant brass boudoir chair crafted in the manner of the metal work designed by Oscar Bruno Bach in the 1920 to 1930s era.Oscar Bruno Bach, German (1884-1957), a naturalized U.S. citizen, was a renowned industrial designer working in New York City beginning in 1914. He designed architectural elements, furniture and accessories that crossed all manner of styles. The chair features an oval upholstered back flanked by vining tendrils in brass rising to C scrolled lion heads at the crest. The rectangular upholstered seat is supported on four sides by a brass apron of barley twisted columns radiating from a centrally placed vase motif atop C scrolls. The four reverse tapered legs are foliated and are joined by diagonally crossed stretchers with a central medallion.As seen in the photographs, the brass shows minor wear appropriate with age. On the back side of the apron, there is a minor loss to one small C scroll at the base of the centered vase.The chair is upholstered in a pink moire fabric with evidence of a green woven striped fabric underneath. The chair weighs 30 1/2 pounds and measures 16 1/2" wide, 16" deep, 36 3/4" in height with a seat height of 17".The chair is available for local pickup and assistance will be provided for buyer's choice of shippers.
