Collectors and glow hounds would have to agree this stone would easily impress friends and family. This RARE stone was found on Lake Superior in Michigan's Upper Peninsula! Dimensions and Weight 7’ x 5’ x 4 1/2” 5lbs 9oz The type of Ultraviolet light and the color of visible light is determined by its wavelength. The unit of measurement for light wavelengths is the nanometer (nm) I use a 365nm Filtered UV BLack Flashlight for my photos. I do not recommend using a 395nm UVBlack Flashlight. You will not achieve the same brilliance or clarity with the 395nm. They’re made up of mostly Sodalite rock, which is similar to granite, which means the rock looks like any other dark typical gray rock, but there’s a twist. Yooperlites are rich with fluorescent Syenite, which glows a vibrant ember orange or yellow under Ultraviolet Light. These glow-in-the-dark deposits of Syenite can form various patterns, including sparsely spotted, geometric lines, and an all-over sort of pattern reminiscent of a galaxies and snowflakes.
