Recessed portion is 3-5/8 inches This is a surface mount to be installed over the field tile (semi-flush) and not flush with it. There is about 5/16 inch overlay on the surrounding field tile. Depth needed for installation is 3-5/8 inches from finished surface Projection from finished surface is 3/8 inch. Note: these have a tight tolerance of 5/16 of an inch overlay, so make your cut out no more the 11-7/8 inches square. Tip…install a 2 X 4 block at the height needed so this fixture will have something to rest on during installation. Or use very sticky aluminum tape to hold in place while your Thin-Set adhesive dries...do not use duct tape or blue tape as these will not hold.
