Description: British Red Transferware Renaissance Scene Demitasse Cup & Saucer C.1830-1840s Rare antique British pearlware demitasse cup and saucer. Decorated with a red transfer pattern depicting Renaissance era gentlemen and a lady playing a guitar. Floral and scrollwork border. The saucer is marked on the bottom. Circa 1830 to 1840s. Has crazing typical of earthenware, a small flake to the top of the handle, a few small hairlines extending off the lip of the cup and a hairline extending off the edge of the saucer. The cup measures approximately 3 7/8 inches wide including the handle x 2 inches tall. The saucer measures approximately 5 1/8 inches wide. This is an antique and may have small in manufacture defects that do not affect the display of the piece.
