Description: This granadilla wood International is a very nice example of a German-made Buffet clarinet that would be considered an intermediate model or a step up from a plastic student model. In the Buffet lineup, this model would be considered at least as good as the E11 model. As you can see in the photos, the keys have polished up nicely. The silver key plating on this horn provides a deeper level of shine than clarinets with nickel plating. The wood doesn't have any cracks. However, it does have some small scratches but nothing major. The Buffet International logo is somewhat rubbed off but is still visible in direct lighting. This instrument was just serviced: taken apart and polished, all new Valentino pads were installed, plus it was lubricated and the key height was adjusted when it was re-assembled. I've found that often it's the small adjustments that make a big difference in how enjoyable an instrument is to play. I started playing clarinet 61 years ago and these days I restore clarinets exclusively. Over the years I've refurbished more than 1,200 of these Bb clarinets, many of which have been sold here on eBay. After testing this clarinet, I've found that it does everything well- it plays easily from top to bottom and has that rich Buffet sound. The tone is enhanced by an excellent Debut mouthpiece. This clarinet comes with a new Clark Fobes Debut mouthpiece which complements it well. Also comes with new cork grease and a new reed. The Buffet case has typical wear and works well. The serial number is 813113 (matching on upper and lower joints). Next to the serial number is stamped "Made in Germany".
