I love to make resin projects and jewelry personally with the quills I keep. These porcupine quills are shed naturally from our personal ambassadors we use for education in Indiana. While African crested porcupines originate in Africa, these have been born and raised in the states. They shed quills like hair daily so we just pick them up off the ground of their enclosures. They are not barbed but are VERY SHARP! Please be careful when handling or blunt the pointy end. These quills have been washed and rinsed with vinegar and dawn soap, but have not been scrubbed. It’s common for them to have some grime from the residue between quills and/or some paint (it’s how we distinguish between porcupines quickly). The paint comes off easily so no worries there!
