Description: You are buying (5 each) Bur Oak, Sawtooth, Chinkapin, Chestnut and Southern Red Oak acorns. These are a group of my favorite oaks. This is a chance for everyone to grow your own trees. Planting the seeds outside or in flowerpots is easy and fun. Some of the acorns you are purchasing are already sprouting, so you can plant now or refrigerate them and keep them dormant until springs. If you plant them, you can do it inside or preferably outside and let Mother Nature, bring the trees to life in the spring. Whenever you plant them, rember to protect them from the mice, squirrels and deer. After the trees have sprouted in the spring, continue to protect them from the squirrel, deer and mice the first year. If the deer do bite off the tree, it will usually come back even stronger. All nuts are fresh from this year. I clean them in mild bleach solution to deter mold, then I rinse them thoroughly and refrigerate them until sold. These Oaks are toughest/durable trees in the oak family. They are somewhat rare and will grow to about ~75' tall. They all do well in partial shade and full sun. These oaks appear in a variety of geographies from hills to low-lands and can tolerate a wide variety of soils. These oaks produce a generous number of acorns on an annual basis once the trees are mature. They are also resistant to most any pest or disease. These acorns are loved by deer, turkey and other wildlife. Please remember to give your tree good soil and adequate water.
