Description: Antique lacquered basket form the tribal regions in Burma, possibly Chin or Shan provinces, circa 1900-1940. Nicely woven and then thouroughly lacquered this would have provided water tight storage for small items or tobacco. It is cleverly constructed with a fitted lid and a cord for hanging. Signs of obvious use andsome small loss as visible in the photos. Still it is well made and can be used to this day. 7" tall by 5.5x2.5 inches
