Description: This listing is for a Butterfly quilt - hand quilted approximately 5 stitches per inch. 20 Butterfly diamonds with each diamond approximately 10.75 inches by 11.25 inches. The quilt points are machine closed. The background on the front is made with a pinkish solid cotton? and has a 2.5 inch band of a beige cotton? fabric. The back looks to be made using the same pinkish fabric. The finished measurements are approximately 80 inches wide x 97 inches long. This quilt has never been washed - the pencil marks used for quilting still show. The quality of the quilting and the applique of the butterflies is excellent - well worth the effort to remove the age related spotting. All of the pictures show the many, many spots throughout the entire front - I think it is possible for the spots to be worked out with at least one long soak in a good quilt cleaning solution. Picture 9 shows the pencil marks plus pencil marks that must have been made by mistake. I see one stain on the back toward the top and some age spots - picture 12. This quilt is from mom's collection, but I'm listing it under Kelsey's Kwilt Tops to keep all of the quilting items together. I don't know the age of this quilt or where mom found it, but I'm guessing the prints are from the 1970s. I am happy to send more pictures if needed - just let me know, or ask any questions.
