Description: Stunning pair of antique Uranium / Vaseline glass mantle lusters that fluoresce under a blacklight. C. 1880 – 1900. In natural daylight, the lusters are a lovely opaque green color with a satin finish (all photos except #1). They glow a very bright green under ultraviolet (see #1 photo). Gold trim highlights the petal edged opening at the top, upper body lower rim, and the “knob” in the middle of each stem. Each candle holder has 8 cut crystal prisms each. The dangling prisms would catch the light and add a festive sparkle to the mantle or dinner table. These lusters appear to be made as candle holders or vases. Long part of prism has 10 etched flowers, with 2 on the square above it. All of the prisms are original and matched. No visible maker’s marks.Dimensions: Green body 9.25” Tall. Foot diameter = 3-7/8”. Top diameter = 4-1/8”. Knob on stem is approximately 1.25” diameter. Each prism is made of a 4” long triangular part, and a 0.75” square. Total length varies because of the way metal connector pins have been bent, but are approximately 5.25” long. Unpacked weight: 2 pounds, 3 oz. Condition: Good giftable condition, commiserate with age and use. Most notable issues: 1) Gold highlights have substantially eroded (I’d estimate 25% - 30% gone), and 2) One “long part” luster has a small chip out of the rim at the top (see last photo). Connector wire pins are consistently patinated, but may be weak from years of bending (please note replacement wires are readily and cheaply available if ultimately required). There is otherwise no damage to the green glass or prisms. I do not feel anything amiss when I run my finger around all of the edges. Other than on prism as mentioned, No chips, flakes, breaks, mends, repairs, cracks, hairlines, blemishes, or mentionable boo-boo's. Always happy to pass through discounts on combined shipping. I only charge actual postage, and always use recycled packing materials. Note some photos appear redundant because I take photos from all possible angles. On symmetrical items, these photos may appear redundant when there are no distinguishing differences or condition issues between side views. I gladly accept returns, but please note I do not pay return postage unless there was a significant error in my description. The item listed is being sold as is, as pictured and as described to the best of my knowledge. All dimensions and weights approximate. If you have a question or an assumption on an item prior to purchase, please ask. I much prefer to take the time on the front end to make sure you will be satisfied with your purchase. Remember, when buying vintage expect imperfections as these items have a history and have been in the possession of others. I try to list EVERY flaw which would be commented on something in an antique or vintage condition – this does not mean all imperfections resulting from normal wear & use require comment. My goal is to have no rude surprises upon receipt. abc
