Description: Featured is a circa 1918-20 Real Photo Postcard of the Passenger / Freight Ship US Great Northern (AG-9) which was acquired by the military for service in September, 1917 and served its long tour of duty as a transport ship for US troops. She would also be known before being returned to private duty as USAT Great Northern and USS Columbia. Having been built in Philadelphia, her port of call was in the "Great Northern" Pacific Northwest.
