C. 1950's Mid-Century Modern CHRISTMAS TREE STAND with BOX, Atomic, Rocket, MCM

Description: Straight out of an estate attic, complete with box! Perfect for a small live or vintage retro artificial tree! Used, but complete with box, I am offering this vintage mid-century-modern Christmas tree stand or holder. Probably dating from the 1950's to early 1960's as indicated by a lack of a zip code on the box. (The box even has it's original price label of $2.79.) The painted red metal well is a stepped "nose cone" or "bullet" design, and the white tripod legs suggest a rocket on it's launch pad. Identified on the cardboard box as Model #30, the metal stand was produced by the Happy Things Manufacturing Company of Ludington, Michigan. Three long threaded hand-tightened bolts lock the tree trunk into place through the decorative chrome top ring. The bolts allow for lots of adjustment. The tapered water well of the holder is small, but it will accommodate a real or artificial tree trunk over 4" in diameter. Assembled, the stand is 7" in height. All steel, the stand is very sturdy when the bolts are tightened. The box: Heavy cardboard, the box is rough but complete. It even retains it's period label from Lynch's Hardware, with a retail price of $2.79. Weight: The box and stand weight about 2 3/4 pounds. Padding and a shipping box will result in a weight of 3-4 pounds. Local and regional buyers are more than welcome to pick up at my shop. This will be shipped via U. S.
