Description: C F Monroe Wave Crest Egg Crate Large Dresser Box, Ivory/Tan, Scenic Maidens Large square box with bulbous protrusions, commonly referred to as an egg crate design. The background is ivory, darkening to a soft tan around the sides. The lid has a lovely hand painted scene depicting two women dancing in the woods. Metal rims with intricate design at each of the four corners. Original satin lining in the lid of the box only. This box is pictured on page 89 of Wilfred Cohen's book "Wave Crest: The Glass of C.F. Monroe." Produced from the 1890s through 1916.Condition: No chips, cracks or repairs. Metal is tarnished but in good condition. No lining in bottom of box. Minor stains to upper lining. Marks: Unmarked.
