Description: Presented is a fabulous Albert Coles coin silver asparagus server. This piece is made in the Jenny Lind pattern, and dates to circa 1850-1860. The server is done in the classical tong form, with rectangular pierced blades for picking up and serving long stalks of asparagus. The server is very well made with great attention to detail, down to the matte finish on the blades and the delicate hand engraved bright cut design on the band around the arms. The server is quite sturdy, made from thick, heavy gauge silver, with a nice feeling of weight in the hand. Jenny Lind is a rare and desirable Coles pattern in its own right, and this server is a particularly hard to find example, certainly the only one of its kind we can find available for sale. This piece is in great condition. The details of the pattern are nice and crisp. There are no splits, no breaks, no dents, no cracks, no monograms, no monogram removals, and no repairs. The server is marked on the interior of one arm with the Albert Coles maker's mark and the number 11. The server is about 10 1/2 inches long. This piece weighs 221 grams or 7.8 regular ounces. -jm Powered by SixBit's eCommerce Solution
