Richter's blocks saw inspiration from Friedrich Frobel, the creator of the Kindergarten system of education. Frobel used wooden blocks for children. Anchor stones were first produced by Otto Lillenthal and his brother Gustav. They created stone blocks and had limited commercial success. Richter bought the rights for these designs and began producing them. They were an instant success. Illustrations to this work remain vibrant. CONDITION In the original paper wraps.
