Description: Cabinet photograph depicting the Washington Club members from Marshall College (Now University) in Huntington West Virginia. Not sure what the Washington Club was, but all but two members are in suits and ties. The other two are in baseball uniforms. Photograph by William Erskine. *Alfred T Proctor was born in 1864 in Catalpa, Virginia and about 1888 he began his photography career in Charleston WV. He originally partnered with Elmer B. Tully (Proctor & Tully). In 1894 they moved their business to Huntington, West Virginia leaving photographer William Erskine to run the Charleston studio. In 1897 Erskine joined the two partners in Huntington. Ultimately the partnership ended and the three photographers operated independent businesses. 6 ½” x 8 ¾”. Nice clean image and mount. Scrapbook residue and later pencil text on the back. Mild corner crease. See scans.
