Description: This print is from a rare portfolio of high quality photogravure prints of San Francisco California dating circa 1905. I don't have an exact date, but it is pre-earthquake (1906) and post building of the St. Francis Hotel (1904). This image depicts the Cliff House. The Cliff House is a restaurant perched on the headlands on the cliffs just north of Ocean Beach on the western side of San Francisco, California. It overlooks the site of the former Sutro Baths and a room-sized camera obscura and is now part of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area, operated by the National Park Service. Tons of detail in this print, and beautiful tones. This would look wonderful framed. This incredibly beautiful photogravure is single-sided and on thick paper. It has a blank back. The page measures approx. 5.5 x 8 inches (13.5 x 20 cm), and the actual image area is about 3.75 x 5.5 inches. The left side has about a dozen small holes where the pages were originally tied together with a ribbon. This could easily be trimmed as it is not near the picture area.
